The Power of Intercession

“When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid hands on everyone of them and healed them. (Luk.4:40)”

Please note the underlined words in the above cited Scripture. They should be of great encouragement to those of us who have loved ones in our lives who are in need of a touch from the Lord, whether they be physical, spiritual or otherwise. The above Scripture says that those who had such, brought them to the Lord  and the Lord touched and healed everyone of them! Not one was turned back!

Do you have people in your life who need a Divine intervention? If yes, bring them to the Lord in prayer! If it’s physical healing they’re in need of, God wants to heal them! The Bible says: “Pray for one another that you might be healed.” (Jam.5:16) God simply delights to see His children caring enough for those who suffer that they make intercession for them. But as I just mentioned, this applies to more than just physical healing. Whatever the need in the lives of those you love, whether its material, financial, or greater still, salvation for one’s soul, you take care of the intercession, and God will take care of the solution.

Back to the Book of James, in the same verse above cited the Bible says: “The prayer of the righteous man avails much.” Remember Abraham when interceding for his loved ones in Sodom… He started with 50 asking the Lord to spare them if He found that many, then 45, then 40, 30, 20, 10… The Lord simply delighted in his intercession! How do we know that? Because the Lord never ceased giving until Abraham ceased asking! The Bible says that when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed, “God remembered Abraham” (Gen.19:29),  and spared the lives of Lot and his family. So whatever the need in the lives of those you love, you bring them before the Lord, do it incessantly for that’s what intercession is, and the Lord will take care of the rest. But whatever you do, do not give up! Remember, the Lord’s counting on you, and so do your loved ones!
